Exothermic welding, also known as thermite welding, operates on a simple yet ingenious principle: the release of heat from an exothermic reaction to melt and fuse metals together. The process begins with the preparation of the joint, where surfaces are meticulously cleaned and aligned. A crucible containing a precise mixture of powdered metals is then placed over the joint. Upon ignition, the powdered mixture undergoes a chemical reaction, generating intense heat that melts the base metals and forms a molten pool. As the pool cools and solidifies, it creates a seamless, high-strength bond that surpasses traditional welding methods in durability and conductivity.
